Books
I do not follow one book in particular. I take inspiration from many books but I prefer to prepare the lesson material myself, based on the particular needs and desire of the student. Every student is different.
Still, if you desire some advice on books here are some of my favourites.
Minna no Nihongo. "Everybody's Japanese"
One of my all time favourite, extensively used by most teachers in Japan and elsewhere.
Genki Nihongo. "Healthy Japanese"
Very popular especially at universities in Japan and abroad. ItÂ’s a series of 2 books, each book has 6 CDs and a work book.
Japanese for busy people.
Many beginners like the Romanized version of this book because you can get away even without learning kana. Not necessarily a good thing because it allows to "cheat". But still, a great book (especially the kana version). Easy to use.
